This course provides a comprehensive grounding in facial anatomy and physiology as it applies directly to aesthetic practice. Designed for medical and healthcare professionals, it covers the key anatomical structures, systems, and landmarks that inform safe, evidence-based injectable treatment. Across seven structured units, learners will develop a thorough understanding of the skin's layers and their relevance to injection depth, the arterial and venous supply of the face — including vascular danger zones critical to filler safety — and the role of the lymphatic system in post-treatment tissue response. The course examines the muscles of facial expression in detail, with a focus on their clinical relevance to both dermal filler and botulinum toxin treatment planning. Bony anatomy is covered with particular attention to key foramina and skeletal landmarks used to guide injection technique, and the course concludes with an overview of the facial nerve (VII) and trigeminal nerve (V), including the clinical implications of nerve damage in an aesthetic context. Each unit is supported by a multiple-choice assessment to consolidate learning and confirm competency before progressing to practical training.
